I recently watched a movie that got me thinking. I had learned a valuable lesson, that the world could learn from. This movie was called ‘Fantastic Beasts and the Crimes of Grindelwald’. The lesson I derived from that movie was that it doesn’t matter who you were born as, but it matters who you are now. See, it doesn’t matter who your parents are, if you’re poor or wealthy, or what your skin color or ethnicity is. It matters who you are as a person. I hope you learned something from this.

I’m going to be sharing my opinion on a popular debate. Should kids have homework or not? I believe they shouldn’t. One reason for this is that homework stresses out kids. After a long day of school, where kids spend more time than their actual home, they have to go home and finish their homework. They barely see their parents because of this, and it’s not good for them. Also, kids should be allowed to relax a little. Maybe instead of no homework at all, classwork that kids don’t finish in class could be homework. That way, kids will be motivated to do their work in class, and they’ll be able to relax and see family and friends after school. There are some cons to this, though. You can argue that homework helps kids revise what they learned in class, and to test if kids can answer questions about the material without their teacher to help them.

Me and my family travel a lot, so I have been to many countries.  I have been to very exotic places, such as Belize, which you probably haven’t ever heard of, and popular, touristy, places like Paris.  I love traveling a lot, so I will tell you about some of my experiences. 

One of the most beautiful countries I have ever been to is Belize.  Belize is a small country in Central America. It has beautiful forests, cool Mayan ruins, and untouched scenery.  When I visited, I went to San Ignacio, which is a beautiful city filled with lush greenery, Placencia, a town near the beach, and an island called San Pedro, which has really pretty beaches.  When my family and I were in San Ignacio, we saw a really cool Mayan temple called Xunantunich. When we were in Placencia for New Year’s, we went to the beach and we also went kayaking! Then, in San Pedro, we went snorkeling in a pretty reef.  The amazing thing about Belize is that it’s very untouched, and green. I encourage you to visit Belize one day!   

I have a lot of hobbies, and most of them are related to arts and literature.  I enjoy creative writing, painting, drawing, reading, singing, dancing, and more.  

I like creative writing because you can basically escape into an alternate world, a world you created!  One of my best friends recently started writing a book that she hopes will get published someday (I think it will be because she is an AWESOME writer), and it inspired me to try to write one too. It’s pretty good and I am proud of my book (well, what’s written so far).  

I am fond of painting and drawing because I can create anything through my art, much like creative writing.  So, I guess that I like to do things that are creative because I can create anything that I want to.  

I like reading because you can disappear into any world, fantasy or not.  You can read about any character, person, place, or idea! It’s amazing!

I enjoy singing and dancing a lot, too.  I enjoy singing, well, because it’s beautiful and it produces entertainment for others.  I like dancing for the same reasons and also because it is good exercise.

I hope that you are inspired to try out these hobbies! They are very creative and a lot of fun.

My favorite actress is Elizabeth ( Liz ) Gillies.  She is also a singer. I like her because she plays my favorite character in one of my favorite shows, Victorious.  She plays Jade West, the frenemy to the main character, Tori Vega.  She is like the mean girl at the school, but sometimes she can be nice.  

Elizabeth Gillies first performed on the broadway show 13 and played the character Lucy. I don’t know anything about other shows she was in, just Victorious.  I hope you decide to try watching Victorious ( or the other shows she was in )!

My favorite instrument is the guitar.  I actually play the guitar, so that’s kind of a no brainer.  It’s a really cool instrument. I love how you can make tons of sounds just by strumming or picking different strings.  You can play so many songs and melodies. By the way, a melody is like the music for a song but without the lyrics and it’s not the chords.  

Sometimes the guitar can be tricky to learn.  It can be very frustrating, and it occasionally makes you want to not learn the guitar.  But now and then, it is really easy and it makes you want to learn more! I have even learned how to write songs!  

If you don’t play an instrument,  you should consider trying to learn one!  And if you do, maybe try the guitar.

My favorite dessert is chocolate.  To be more specific, it is actually dark chocolate.  I know a lot of people don’t like dark chocolate because they say it is too bitter, but I think that other kinds of chocolate are way too sweet.  I like the perfect balance between bitter and sweet.  

I have always loved dark chocolate.  I think I get it from my mom because she also loves dark chocolate.  Did you know that dark chocolate is actually healthier than other kinds of chocolate because it has less sugar and contains more cacao (the beans that chocolate is made from)? Maybe you should try dark chocolate (if you don’t already like it)!

One of my favorite books is The Percy Jackson and the Olympians series.  This book is written by Rick Riordan, and it is about a boy named Perseus (Percy) Jackson, and he finds out that his dad is a Greek god and that he is very powerful.  He goes on many quests and adventures, but I won’t spoil it.

There are also a lot of series that are like sequels based on mythology such as Roman, Norse, and Egyptian mythology.  It is a good series because you can learn a lot about mythology, and you can really relate to the characters. It is also really funny.  I hope you decide to read The Percy Jackson series.
